# Secrets of Gosu: Understanding Physical Combat Skills of Professional Players in First-Person Shooters

## 초록

1인칭 슈팅 게임(FPS)에서 프로 선수(이른바 고수)는 아마추어보다 뛰어난 성적을 낸다. 프로 FPS 선수의 성능 뒤에 있는 비결은 온라인 커뮤니티에서 여러 추측과 함께 논쟁되어 왔지만, 과학적으로 검증하려는 시도는 제한적이었다. 이 난제를 상용 FPS 게임 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive에서 프로 8명과 아마추어 8명의 플레이를 대상으로 한 데이터 수집 연구로 다뤘다. 수집한 데이터는 여섯 종류 센서(모션 캡처, 시선 추적기, 마우스, 키보드, 근전도 암밴드, 맥박 센서)의 행동 데이터와 인게임 데이터(플레이어 데이터, 이벤트 로그)를 포함한다. 조준, 캐릭터 이동, 신체 능력, 장비 및 설정의 네 범주로 추측들을 검증했다. 13개 추측 중 통계적으로 충분한 근거가 확인된 것은 6개뿐이었다.
